Getting Started
Audionotes is an AI-powered note-taking app that converts voice recordings, uploaded audio files, images, and YouTube videos into structured, searchable notes. When you record or upload content, Audionotes sends it through a multi-model AI pipeline that first transcribes the speech into text, then summarizes the key points, generates a relevant title, and organizes everything into a clean note. The entire process typically completes within seconds for short recordings and a few minutes for longer files. Over 200,000 users have used Audionotes to capture more than 1 million notes across iOS, Android, and the web — from quick voice memos to hour-long meeting recordings. No manual editing required; the AI handles formatting so you can focus on the content.
You can create notes in multiple ways: Record audio directly, Upload an audio file, Create a text note, Add an image, Add a YouTube video URL. Audionotes will automatically transcribe, summarize, and organize your content into notes.
Features & Capabilities
Audionotes accepts a wide range of input types. For file uploads, all major audio and video formats are supported — MP3, MP4, M4A, OGG, WAV, FLAC, WEBM, and more. Pro users can upload files up to 500 MB, while free users have a smaller limit suitable for short recordings. Beyond file uploads, you can also: record directly via microphone on iOS, Android, or the web app; paste a YouTube URL to transcribe any public video; or submit an image containing text for OCR-based extraction. The WhatsApp bot (Pro) is an additional input channel — send a voice note to the bot number and get a transcript back in the chat. See the full list of accepted formats and per-plan size limits on the supported file formats page.

Free plan recordings are capped at 1 minute each, but you can create as many 1-minute notes as you like — there is no cap on note count. Pro plan recordings can be up to 6 hours long, which covers virtually any real-world use case: full-day workshops, lengthy interviews, university lectures, or multi-hour brainstorming sessions. Pro also raises the file upload limit to 500 MB, so you can import large video or audio files recorded outside the app. If you regularly capture content longer than a minute — meetings, lectures, podcasts — upgrading to Pro removes that constraint entirely. Both plans include full transcription, AI summaries, title generation, and all editing features for every note. See a full side-by-side breakdown on the pricing page.

Integrations & Compatibility
Yes. Audionotes offers several integration options for Pro users. The native Notion integration lets you auto-export finished notes directly into any Notion database, keeping your note-taking and knowledge management in sync without manual copying. The Zapier integration connects Audionotes to 6,000+ apps — popular workflows include sending new notes to Slack, appending transcripts to Google Docs, or logging entries in Airtable. For developers and advanced users, Webhooks let you push note data to any endpoint the moment a note is processed, enabling fully custom pipelines. The WhatsApp bot is an additional channel: send voice notes via WhatsApp and receive the transcript back in the same chat. See all available connections on the Integrations page.
Available for Pro users, send voice notes to our WhatsApp bot and receive transcripts and summaries instantly.
Technical & Troubleshooting
Yes, you can record audio without an internet connection. The Audionotes mobile app (iOS and Android) stores your recording locally on the device so nothing is lost if you're in a low-signal area — on a plane, in a basement, or in a rural location. As soon as the device reconnects to the internet, the app automatically uploads the recording, runs it through the AI transcription and summarization pipeline, and delivers the finished note to your account. The web app also supports offline recording capture in modern browsers with the same sync-on-reconnect behavior. One thing to note: playback of previously transcribed notes and any AI editing features do require an active connection, as they depend on cloud-side processing.
This is rare but can occur with longer files, poor connectivity, or low battery. Check Files > Audionotes for your recording — all recordings are saved locally unless manually deleted.
Audionotes uses a multi-model pipeline rather than a single AI provider. For transcription, we route recordings through OpenAI Whisper, AssemblyAI, and Deepgram — selecting the model best suited to each recording's language, length, and audio profile. For summarization, title generation, and AI-assisted editing, we draw on large language models from OpenAI (GPT-4 class) and Google Gemini. This architecture means we are not locked to one vendor's strengths or limitations: as newer, more accurate models become available, we can adopt them without changing the product interface. The selection logic runs automatically in the background — you submit a recording and receive the best result the current pipeline can produce, without needing to choose a model yourself.
Audionotes achieves approximately 95% accuracy on clear audio with a single speaker and minimal background noise. Accuracy is influenced by several factors: audio quality (a close-held phone microphone outperforms a distant laptop mic), the presence of background noise, the speaker's accent, technical vocabulary, and the language being transcribed. We run multiple leading transcription models — including OpenAI Whisper, AssemblyAI, and Deepgram — and route each recording to the model that performs best for its language and audio profile. For languages beyond English, accuracy tiers vary; some widely spoken languages like Spanish, French, and German approach English-level accuracy, while lower-resource languages may see higher error rates. See per-language accuracy ratings on the supported languages page and the full benchmarking approach in our testing methodology.
We know it's frustrating when a video doesn't process! Currently, we don't support YouTube Live videos, YouTube Shorts, and certain restricted videos. The good news is we successfully process over 95% of standard YouTube videos. If your video isn't working, it's likely one of these unsupported types.
Audionotes doesn't directly integrate with meeting platforms like Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams. However, here's a simple workaround: use Audionotes on your phone to record the audio from your computer's speakers during the meeting. You'll get the same great transcription and summary of your meeting content.
Privacy & Security
Yes. Your notes are private by default and never visible to other users. All content is encrypted both in transit (TLS) and at rest, so recordings and transcripts are protected at every stage of processing. We have opted out of AI model training with every provider we use — OpenAI, Google, Microsoft Azure, AssemblyAI, and Deepgram — meaning your audio and text are never fed back into model training pipelines. We do not sell, share, or license your data to third parties for any purpose. You retain full ownership of your content and can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Account Centre. For the complete breakdown of data handling, retention periods, and your rights, see our Privacy Policy.
No. We have explicitly opted out of AI model training data agreements with every provider in our pipeline: OpenAI, Microsoft Azure, Google, AssemblyAI, and Deepgram. This means your audio recordings, transcripts, and notes are not fed into any training dataset, used to fine-tune any model, or retained by those providers beyond the immediate processing window. This opt-out covers both the transcription layer and the summarization/LLM layer. It applies to all users on all plans — not just enterprise or paid tiers. If a provider's policy changes or a new provider is added to our pipeline, we will update our Privacy Policy to reflect the current opt-out status before the change takes effect.
Yes. Navigate to Login > Account Centre > Profile > Delete Account to permanently remove your account and data.
Plans & Pricing
The free plan gives you unlimited notes with recordings up to 1 minute each — there is no cap on how many notes you can create. Every note gets full AI transcription, an AI-generated summary, and a title. You also get image-to-note (OCR), YouTube URL transcription, and access to the iOS, Android, and web apps with no time limit on your account. The free plan is designed so you can evaluate the core product without committing. The main constraints are the 1-minute recording cap and a smaller file upload size limit. Upgrading to Pro removes both: recordings extend to 6 hours, file uploads go up to 500 MB, and you unlock the WhatsApp bot, priority processing, and integrations with Notion, Zapier, and Webhooks. See the full plan comparison for a feature-by-feature breakdown.
