Audionotes for Mac

For full recording support, allow Microphone, Screen & System Audio Recording, and access to your local recordings folder. The macOS permission name can sound broader than it is. Audionotes captures audio output, not your screen.

Select Record in Audionotes, or choose File > New Recording. You can record your microphone on its own or include system audio for meetings and videos. Meeting reminders never start a recording for you.

No. Audionotes records from your Mac, so it does not add a bot to the call.

Yes. Audionotes uses the microphone selected by macOS, including AirPods, Bluetooth headsets, and external microphones. If you switch devices during a recording, check that audio activity continues. For an important call, a stable setup is safest.

Audionotes first saves the recording locally, then uploads and processes it into a note. You can close the main window while this continues because the app stays available in the menu bar. Avoid choosing Quit until the recording is safely saved.

You can keep recording without internet. Audionotes stores a local recovery copy and retries when you are online again. The selected folder is shown in Settings > General > Local recordings. If recovery does not finish automatically, use Recovery scan there.

Audionotes checks for updates in the background and asks before relaunching. It will not interrupt an active recording. You can also choose Audionotes > Check for Updates.

Check that Audionotes can access your Microphone and Screen & System Audio Recording in System Settings > Privacy & Security. Also confirm that the correct microphone is selected. Fully quit and reopen Audionotes after changing permissions. If the issue continues, email hello@audionotes.app.
